If true then Vancouver Boxing Gyms would be closing down and that’s not happening, in fact Sugarrays has never been busier. The genius of the UFC is marketing a product to mass audiences, slickly advertising the next event and producing for the most part great fights and excellent entertainment. A poor fight doesn’t last too long then you are on to the next and commentators are able to find something interesting to say. I think they are really so much better than the likes of Max Kellerman of HBO, always so much wiser and insightfull after the event, how on earth he got the job beats me, it’s like listening to Paris Hilton giving a lecture on arc welding. Merchant was even worse!!! The UFC has been sanitised a little and you might have noticed there are no suplex moves by Rampage etc. This was wise since the possibility of a death live on tv would crush the UFC so I believe this is a good move, it took many years and sadly deaths to move weigh ins for boxing to the day before the fight, brain haemorages being assisted by dehydration, death by lack of immediate medical assistance and oxygen ringside. UFC is still very dangerous but I have lost count of the amount of times even their excellent commentators have droned on about how dangerous the 4 oz gloves are compared to 6oz, 8oz, and 10oz of boxing trying to emphasise how much more dangerous mma is, give it a rest boys! They fail to point out that the gloves are designed principally to protect the hands so you are able .. yes, you guessed it, hit harder with a little more protection! The bottom line is Boxers don’t tap and I think that is always in the mind of mma fighters. It always puzzled me why people wear shirts with “I give up” which is what Tap out means.
